Samsung has officially announced that it will not launch Galaxy S8 in the Mobile World Congress in February 2017. The news came after the publication of investigation details of Galaxy Note 7 recall.
According to the head of Samsung’s mobile business Koh Dong-jin the company is not ready to announce release date of Galaxy S8. Preview of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge was held at Mobile World Congress in 2016. The Korean manufacturer previously took part in MWC in Barcelona too in order to present new flagships for 100,000 audience.
Perhaps the transfer of the presentation date is related to the new arrangements for security and quality control in Samsung. On the other hand, company may decide to check all details more thoroughly after the failure of Note 7. Therefore, users will have to wait for S8 appearance in stores longer than usual.
According to the report the reason for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 failure was in battery cells. This information confirmed the rumors that were spread in the past few weeks. In the first edition of the battery sections a deflection was detected in negative electrode, and there was molten copper in the second shipment, which appeared due to short circuit during welding.
